TASK:

To prepare for the creation of their own video production, students learn how to use the video editing software iMovie. Students import the raw footage used to make the sample movies. They edit the content by adding video effects, applying transitions, and inserting text overlays.  They will also add an original music track which they create in Garage Band.

Students team up to film their video footage. To begin, they decide on a plot for their movie and use a storyboard to organize their ideas. Afterwards, they capture the action sequences using basic video recording equipment. Throughout the lesson plans are helpful movie making tips.

  • To create their video students will use a storyboard to plan
  • Students learn how to split scenes to delete unwanted portions of a video clip. Afterwards, they apply their knowledge to add effects, transitions, and text.
  • Students put the finishing touches on their iMovie. They learn how to import their own created music and add narration to explain each exciting event. Once the movie is complete, it is exported from the iMovie program to iDVD. This will allow the movie to be viewed using Quicktime. The video is then shown at the end of the week.
